Board Game
Peipus Lake 1242
By Wojciech Zalewski
The game is about the battle at Peipus Lake, known as the "Battle on Ice", where armies of the Novogrod defeated the Teutonic Knights. The game uses rules for the "Medieval" system, with classic "I Go - You Go" mechanics. Units are infantry and cavalry, light, medium and heavy, along with archers and leaders. Cavalry may charge to make their attack more devastating. Russians also have some mounted archer Tatar units. Morale plays an important role in the mechanics - as the number of friendly losses increases, the stronger the enemy player attacks. Defeated units might be weakened, destroyed or disordered.
