Board Game
Denain 1712
By Frédéric Bey, Sylvain Ferreira · Art by Christophe Camilotte, Didier Bourgeois, Giuseppe Rava
Vae Victis issue 20. This game uses the same system (with some minor corrections and modifications) that was used in Vae Victis issue 6, "Fontenoy 1745." This battle ended the Spanish War of Succession. One turn represents one hour of real time, an infantry counter represents a brigade of one or more regiments, and a cavalry counter represents four to eight squadrons. As with all Vae Victis games, the counters need to be cut out and mounted. The rules are entirely in French, although translations are available online.
