The Salient of Fire. Kursk - 1943 is about the the Manstein's offensive on the southern flank of the Kursk Bulge. The main task of the German player is to breakthrough three Soviet heavily fortified defensive lines near Oboyan. The Soviet player (the General Vatutin’s Voronezh Front) has to stop the elite German spearheads to prevent capturing Oboyan and famous rail station Prokhorovka using powerful reserves – 1st and 5th Guards Tank Armies. The game also includes the real historical scenario of the mighty tank clash near Prochorovka. Game scale. 1 hex is 5 km. 1 turn is 1 day. The counters represent regimental, battalion or brigade level units.
