Fantastic Maze, a solo 3D exploration miniatures game

Fantastic Maze is a solo exploration game written for miniatures, using a large hex grid. It is a 3D boardgame for one player with one Hero or 2 players with one Hero each in cooperative mode. Heroes enter thick forests, caves or dungeons with objectives set in each scenario, ranging from looting gold pieces to a specific task. Larger hexes make it possible to control a whole party as one unit, reduce bookkeeping to a minimum and allow isometric measurements, affecting movement and shooting. The rules are very simple and the average scenario can be played under 90 minutes. Also larger hexes can accomodate even large monster bases, not requiring odd 'beast compression and skeezing' rules. The game is being written as a true boardgame, meaning that in each game you basically start fresh. Yet some items may be kept from adventure to adventure providing an ongoing campaign feeling. Heroes have a single hit point meaning that they are kept fragile and under check. This is deliberate to keep the tension and increase the wonder of having survived the Maze. Main required components: - several d6 and at least one d8, d10, d12 and d20 - modular hexes about 10cm flat-to-flat (templates available) - miniatures or tokens (miniature photos) representing Heroes, henchmen and the monsters The design took advantage of pre-painted miniatures widely available in the market but any other compatible miniatures can be used.
