Runner Up is a clever trick-taking card game where finishing first is a mistake and coming in second is the key to victory! Players must follow suit as they compete across six colorful suits numbered 1 through 10, but with a surprising twist—the second-highest card wins each trick instead of the highest. Collect valuable cards to score points based on their numbers, but watch out! If you gather three or more cards from the same suit, those cards switch to a set-collection bonus and are worth just 1 point per card instead of their printed values. There's also a special rule involving runs in suits as well. Balancing high-value cards, suit management, and perfectly timed plays makes every hand a race for second place in Runner Up.
