Salaryman Madness

By Thade Precht · Art by Christian Bögle

Salarymen Kim & Co. suffer from a severe fear of numbers, not exactly ideal for their new role as bookies at the Lucky Cat Fights. Is shock therapy the cure?! In the middle of the hectic chaos, the player who keeps their cool and settles the many betting slips first, wins. Each round, all players act simultaneously. Two face-up cards determine a target number by adding their values. Players race to play a matching card from their hand onto one of two discard piles. However, strict “Sacred Prohibitions” must never be violated: the sum of the two visible cards must not equal 10, and the cards may not share the same number or color. These constraints force players to think quickly under pressure while avoiding mistakes. Players can call out errors (“Stop!”) to penalize opponents -or themselves if they notice a mistake too late. Rounds end when a player empties their hand or no more valid plays are possible. Winners receive autograph cards, and the first player to collect a set number of these (depending on player count) wins the game. Advanced variants introduce special cards that modify the math and increase complexity, adding negative numbers or flexible values. This ramps up the challenge and creates even more chaotic, brain-burning gameplay. In the “XOXO Ludomatic Universe,” every game is part of an ongoing story. And we’re just getting started! —description from the publisher
