The mystery plot cards and the query cards are seperated. The investigator cards are seperated according to the questions they answer (who, how, when and where) and shuffled. One player is the game master and reads the upper part of the mystery plot card to the other players. He reads the lower part only silently, since this has to be found out by the other players. Now the players take turns by taking an investigator card and asking questions accordingly to find out whether the word on the card is part of the crime. If they are sure, they can check with the game master. If they are correct, they get the card. Otherwise, the game master gets the card. When the detectives are the first ones to have 4 cards, they win the game. If the game master is faster in getting 4 cards, the detectives lose the game.
