Breakfall

Breakfall is a card solo turn-based combat game where you and your allies will fight to expel the evil power from the almighty Hawkshead Woods. The base game contains 46 cards: 20 Minion cards, 20 Ally cards, 1 Villain card, 1 Hero card, and 4 optional cards that can be used as point counters for the Villain and the Hero. The player draws 4 cards from their main deck and, during their turn, decides which one to use. When a card is put into play, the symbols in the upper-right corner (sun/diamond) of the Hero card must always match the card being played, thus affecting the Hero’s Attack/Defense attributes. Once the player (Hero) finishes their attack turn, it becomes the Villain’s turn. We place the top card of the Villain deck into play and, just like during the Hero’s turn, we rotate the Villain card so that the Sun or Diamond symbol matches the card we have placed. The cards have attack and defense attributes, as well as descriptions with specific actions. The player will face the Villain and their Minions until the Villain’s Life Points reach zero. —description from the designer
