Race To Tunis: A WW2 Roll & Write Game
By Martin Melbardis
The year is 1942. Rommel's Afrika Korps controls a vast stretch of North Africa, but the tide is turning. Montgomery's 8th Army has broken through at El Alamein and is driving west, while American and British forces have landed in Morocco and Algeria under Operation Torch. Your mission: squeeze the Axis from both sides and force them back into Tunisia before they can dig in and hold. Race to Tunis is a solo roll & write game set during the 1942-43 North African campaign. You manage two separate Allied commands: the 8th Army advancing east-to-west from Egypt, and the Torch Forces pushing west-to-east from Morocco, each with their own dedicated dice pool. Both paths must converge on Tunis before the eleven-turn campaign ends. But the map is only half the battle. Axis convoys are crossing the Mediterranean every turn, delivering fuel, ammunition and reinforcements to the front. Track them across three convoy spaces and intercept them before they reach port, or watch resistance stiffen ahead of your advancing armies. Meanwhile, back-channel diplomacy with the Vichy French government can unlock powerful advantages on the western front... if you invest the time. —description from the publisher
