Double Agent

By 奧羅-Oro · Art by Lin Shi-Feng

In Double Agent, players are divided into two teams: Yellow and Blue. The goal of the game is singular: to expose the Mad Scientist of either team. The feature of this game is that the number of players on each team is completely fluid. Furthermore, players have the chance to change their own team or someone else's using card effects. You will never have a permanently trustworthy teammate—you must rely entirely on your own judgment to make the right calls! Determining Your Identity A player's team is determined by the cards in their hand and the cards they have played: 1. If you hold a Mad Scientist card in your hand, you automatically belong to the team of that color. 2. If you do not hold a Mad Scientist card, calculate the total value of the cards in your hand plus your played cards on the table. You belong to the team with the higher total. Every turn, players must either launch an attack or play a card from their hand, causing everyone's true identity to be revealed bit by bit. You can choose to work closely with potential allies to track down the enemy's Mad Scientist. Alternatively, you can sit on the fence, see which way the wind blows, and swap sides to join the winning team once the dust settles. It all comes down to your vision and wit. The Odd-Player Twist: In games with an odd number of players, a unique Double Agent card is introduced. The Double Agent can share the victory by exposing either team's Mad Scientist. However, there is a catch: if the game does not end directly on the Double Agent's turn, they lose!
