Grand Prix Glory: A Game of Grand Prix Racing, 1920-1939

By Pat Phillips · Art by Adrian Phillips

Grand Prix Glory is a fun and innovative set of fast play rules covering Grand Prix auto racing from 1920 to 1940. The pre-Formula One era featured remarkably beautiful cars driven by remarkably brave drivers. Grand Prix Glory captures the feel of the era without getting bogged down in mechanical details. The game emphasizes the connection between man and machine and features ratings for 23 real life drivers as well as the coolest cars both decades had to offer. You don’t have to be an expert on auto racing, or even knowledgeable on the subject, and even if you've never driven a car, you can still play and enjoy Grand Prix Glory. While the actual traveling around the circuit is somewhat abstracted, the essential moments of each track are represented, bringing with each the fun and terror real drivers faced. The download includes the 52 page rulebook, 25 event cards to be printed onto card stock or other sturdy paper, plus a pre-sized (US poker card) pdf file, and a collection of Circuit Cards each covering real circuits as they were laid out at the time. Grand Prix Glory is designed for 1-6 players, though more may certainly join in, and is ideal for solo gaming and includes rules for such. Miniatures are not necessary, though they are strongly encouraged.
