Dobry Gospodarz

Light strategy and educational board game for 2–4 players centered on managing and taking care of regions of Poland. The theme blends geography with competition: players act as caretakers of different voivodeships (provinces), aiming to control as many as possible by answering questions and outmaneuvering opponents. Gameplay revolves around moving your pawn between neighboring regions on a modular map of Poland. Players take turns declaring movement and then resolving control through a die roll—higher rolls win control of a region. When entering or contesting a region, players may need to answer questions from cards related to locations on the map; correct answers help secure or maintain control, while mistakes can cost you regions. Ties in die rolls are rerolled, and special situations allow players to swap regions under certain conditions, adding a tactical layer. Chance cards are triggered on specific die results, introducing tasks tied to the map’s geography. Success can advance your position, while failure may result in losing control of a region. Throughout the game, control shifts dynamically as players capture regions from one another or defend their own. The game ends when one player loses control of all their regions. The remaining players then count how many regions they control; the player with the most wins and earns the title of “Good Host” (Dobry Gospodarz). In case of a tie at the end, a final die roll decides the winner.
