Out of the Limelights: The Battle of Upper Tajuña, March-April 1938
By Pablo Martín Fernández · Art by Pablo Martín Fernández
The Battle of Upper Tajuña, March-April 1938. With the Aragón Front breached in early March 1938 and Franco's army in their way to split the Spanish Republic in two, several attempts were made to weaken the breakthrough by launching diversionary attacks at other fronts. The only one to achieve some success was IV Corps attack at the Upper Tajuña river; but the feat sank into oblivion due to the scale of the Republican defeat at Aragón. This game is a battalion level simulation of this bitter battle in a highly complex terrain. Rules emphasize initiative, limited logistics and time management. —description from the designer
