Guiné-Bissau: Luta pela Libertação/Guinea-Bissau – Struggle for Liberation
By Gary Romano
Guiné-Bissau: Luta pela Libertação is a free two-player game simulating the Guinea-Bissau War of Independence (1963–1974), one of Portugal’s three simultaneous colonial conflicts in Africa. One player controls the Portuguese Government forces attempting to maintain colonial control, while the other controls PAIGC (Partido Africano da Independência da Guiné e Cabo Verde), the revolutionary movement led by Amílcar Cabral seeking independence. This game uses an adaptation of GMT Games’ COIN (COunterINsurgency) series framework as created for two players. Players familiar with Colonial Twilight or The British Way games will recognize the core mechanics. Note: This game is a non-commercial fan project created for personal use. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by GMT Games. The COIN system mechanics are used with appreciation for GMT Games and the original designers.
