Counting Stars

In the year 2100, Earth’s climate has deteriorated beyond repair. Humanity launches seed ships into space, scattering human DNA across the cosmos. Generations later, the first new humans grow up far from their origin, gazing at the stars in search of answers about their existence. Each observer sees the universe from a different perspective, but by sharing information, they can piece together the greater truth hidden among the stars. Counting Stars (目里星辰) is a puzzle deduction game for 3–8 players, centered on asymmetric information and line of sight. The standard rules are designed for 3–4 players, while a simplified mode allows play with up to 8. Players each hold cards representing celestial bodies, seeing only one side while others see the opposite. By asking questions about the number of observed celestial objects and interpreting the answers, players gradually reconstruct hidden information. Each player holds 1–2 cards, seeing only their own side. Other players can see the opposite side of your cards. Players ask questions about visible celestial bodies to gather information. The game includes six different questioning rules, encouraging varied logical approaches. Players use deduction to determine the hidden information on the table. This game is part of the second edition of the 9 Cards series.
