Galaterra: Ojos de Plata
By Juan Pablo Fernández del Río · Art by Juan Pablo Fernández del Río
In the solar system of Galaterra, three factions (Yaud, Xin, and Arap) live in constant conflict for space supremacy. Players take on the role of Aly, a young pilot expelled from the academy who seeks a second chance to earn a position in the peacekeeping organization CENG. To achieve this, she must complete missions, explore different sectors, and fight space battles. Mechanically, this gamebook stands out for an "unplugged" system where no dice, pencils, or character sheets are required. Inventory management, ship modules, and sustained damage are tracked using the player's own fingers as physical bookmarks between specific sections of the book. Additionally, maintaining the ship's systems introduces a memory mechanic: if the player forgets which modules are equipped, they stop working. Battles are resolved through a randomized system integrated into the book's pages. The goal of the game is to survive the adventure, make the right decisions to overcome the main plot, and complete a series of achievements to reach the status of Legend of Galaterra. (Note: The book also includes a classic adventure sheet for those who prefer playing with a pencil and dice). —description from the designer
