Board Game

Gravleville

By Henk-Jan Frens · Art by Joëlle Barg

Once upon a time there was a lively and colorful village in the heart of the forest, with all kinds of different creatures and animals. Until one day the village and all its inhabitants were cursed and almost everyone was petrified into a statue and time froze. The village was wiped off the map and could not be reached by anyone. A small group of heroes, who escaped the curse, joined forces to free the rest of the village from the curse. But the village had changed - it seems to be changing. Not what it seems as this group of heroes try to free their friends... Gravleville is a 1-4 player board game where players store resources, move through a always-changing world and race for the most points. In this game, you choose your own hero, your own route, and try to liberate the most villagers together – or alone. Your turn consists of two actions: moving – and playing a bonus card or bonus action. Movement, by rolling the dice, takes you to unique locations with advantages and resources. You want to be ahead of your opponent rushing to rescue the villagers. Bonus cards move the world, leading you along new—and faster?—routes to the villagers you need to rescue. Sometimes you need to use a bonus card to put your opponent on a different path. Bonus actions grant you unique advantages to stay ahead of your opponents - more movement, more resources or even the ability to steal a card from an opponent. The game ends when all villagers are saved - did you save the villagers worth the most points? Is luck on your side, or will you be able to influence the world around you to your advantage? —description from the designer
