Control to Catastrophe: Maximilian is a miniature wargaming rule set that puts you in command of the armies of the Renaissance. The rules cover everything you need to know about getting ready for play, the core rules covering all aspects of moving and combat, the effects of terrain, special rules that add histoical flavour to your armies, sample army lists and scenarios, and optional rules. CtC is not meant for tournament play but is written to be unambiguous and complete. Here are some of the game’s features: Gridded playing surface – move your units quickly and precisely without the fuss of rulers and specialized maneuver tools. Regardless of the size of table or number of figures, fight battles not just skirmishes. Customizable scaling – choose the grid-size that you want and can accommodate using unit sizes that suit your budget and aesthetic preferences. Figure scale and basing conventions don’t matter. Fill the grid-box with models that you have and that evoke how you imagine the troops you are representing. The core rules are simple and open the way for fast play using D6s.
