Pegasus 1944: Gold-Juno-Sword-Caen
By Wojciech Zalewski
Pegasus 1944 depicts the fights during the British and Canadian landings on Gold, Juno, and Sword beaches, from 6 to 12 June, 1944. The western flank is covered by the British 6th Airborne Division. The first seven days were crucial for Operation Overlord. The goal was to begin the liberation of all of Western Europe, but it was necessary to capture bridgeheads first. Meanwhile, the Germans quickly gathered their units and attempted to stop the Allies at all costs.
