Imperium Card: The Second Punic War
By George Zhu
Imperium Card: The Second Punic War is a historical strategy card game set during the conflict between Rome and Carthage (218–201 BCE). Players take command of opposing powers, deploying historical leaders, armies, and cities to contest control of the Mediterranean world. Each player builds a strategic formation using a curated set of unit and command cards representing real historical forces. Tactical positioning, timing of deployments, and resource management determine the outcome of battles and territorial control. The game emphasizes strategic planning over randomness, rewarding careful sequencing and long-term military objectives. Victory is achieved by securing decisive military superiority, capturing key territories, or fulfilling scenario-based campaign objectives inspired by historical events of the Second Punic War. —description from the publisher
