Escape the Dark Castle: Second Edition

An improved and updated Second Edition, boasting greater variety, better balance, and new gameplay features, released to coincide with the 10th anniversary of initial release of Escape the Dark Castle. The base game now features mechanics formally restricted to expansions, plus more chapters, more items, and more bosses than 1st edition. Items of equipment and armor steadily degrade as you them. Stamina is a new luck-mitigating resource each player must manage, spending it freely to re-roll or dodge damage, and restoring it by resting. Each prisoner now has a simple, unique, once per game special ability. The essence of the game remains the same: Escape the Dark Castle is a simple, cooperative game of retro-atmospheric adventure. The goal of the game is for players to complete every chapter in the castle deck, then defeat the final boss. To win, they must keep every member of the team alive - if any player is killed, the game ends immediately!
