Red Descent: The Air and Ground Assault for Vyamza 1942
By Perry Moore
Red Descent covers the epic large paratroop drop and ground offensive by the Russians in Feb. 1942. It would be one of the largest use of paratroops to drop far behind front lines and cutoff the key German held city of Vyamza, a hub for German supply. Once dropped, the Russian offensive began against an already weakened German force. Within days, the Russians managed to breakthrough to within a few miles of Vyamza only to be pushed back. The chaotic and seesaw battles were difficult for both sides in winter. As time wore on, the stalled Russian offensive struck again from a different direction cutting the main German supply route. For either side, victory was always a step away. This game has two 11x17" maps and 280 counters, rulebook. —description from the publisher
