Board Game
Operation Backdoor to Grozny, Sept. 1942
By Perry Moore
Upon the arrival of the 5th SS Wiking Division, a decision had to be made where and how to use it. Initially, it was used in the Russian 37th Army area but once that stablized, several options were looked at. Deploy some or all north of the Terek River where the Germans made their deepest penetration to Grozny against the 9th Army, or, south of the Terek in order to breakthrough near Malobek. In this Alt-History game, some or all of the SS may be used north of the Terek since elements had already penetrated deep. Success depends on just how much fuel and SS have been committed. This makes for the most historical alt-history game. Could the Germans have reached Grozny? Find out! The game has one 11x17 inch map, 280 counters, rules. Fuel consumption is a key factor in this game and do you stay north of the Terek, or go south of it? or both? —description from the publisher
