PANZERSCHLACHT: Operation Gemse 1945
By Perry Moore
PANZERSCHLACHT: Operation Gemse 1945 covers the very last German offensive in the Berlin area in mid February-March 1945. While the 6SS PzA had been deployed to Hungary in their ill-fated attack there, GEMSE would be the last of the German offensive capability in the Lauban area after the Russians had crossed the Vistula River. The Lauban area contained a vital rail hub that the Germans wanted to keep and although the Russians had severe losses by the time they reached the river, so had the German panzer units. Thus, the Germans launched this offensive to push back the advancing Russian units despite the front crumbling elsewhere. It would include several panzer divisions that did succeed initially forcing the Russians to divert forces. Game scale is one mile hexes, battalion level. Includes 11x17 map, 280 counters, rules. —description from the publisher
