The Lancaster sisters must travel through the “ton” to attain the most exquisite gown, luxurious accessory, stately transportation, and brotherly escort. They then ascend the stairs to the ball, where they will socialize, dance, and attempt to woo the rich eligible bachelor, who leaves much to be desired other than his deep pocketbook. The marriage game is a dangerous sport, as many a scenario will reveal obstacles that the players must attempt to navigate with social grace… but achieving your goals may require creative manoeuvring outside of society’s definition of what is ladylike.
