Ashes & Amber is a competitive civilisation game built around a brand-new mechanic: players build stacks of cards representing their cities. The game spans five eras — Prehistory, Antiquity, Middle Ages, Age of Discovery, and Modern Era. You will struggle through the catastrophe that strikes at the end of each era, and you will thrive by earning powerful accomplishments. Players will use five different decks, one per era, for a total of over 500 unique cards. Each player also selects a unique personal deck with asymmetric mechanics, which they will develop throughout the game. Player interaction is indirect, driven by shared objectives to complete both during the game and at its end. —description from the designer
