It’s Halloween night. You and your friends have found a deck of cards and a board said to be able to speak with the beyond. But the game is haunted by ghosts, and they’re ready to have fun with you. Dodge the spirits and curse your friends in Fantasmagoria! Fantasmagória is a trick-avoidance game where you don’t want to win tricks containing cards from the ghost suit. At the start of each round, each player discards one card from their initial hand onto one of the ghost suit piles, the lowest number discarded becomes the trump value of the game, meaning it's the strongest number both in and out of suit. The game then proceeds with classic trick-taking rules: each player plays one card, following the suit of the first card played. Whoever plays the strongest card takes all the cards in the trick. The first time a player fails to follow suit, a possession occurs. The number on the card played by the possessed player becomes the new trump number. Then, that player must take one of the ghost suit piles into their hand. But beware! In addition to the ghosts, each suit has one cursed card you’ll want to avoid. After three rounds, the winner is the player who has been least cursed.
