HYPE. Battle for Popularity is themed around modern influencer culture. Players take on the roles of bloggers from different niches — like fashion, pets, or politics — each trying to build a loyal following and rise to social media fame. The game humorously captures the race for internet popularity, from posting viral content to dealing with hate, promoting posts, and even collaborating on podcasts. Each turn, players post content (to gain likes) or use special actions from their hand of cards to grow their following, block rivals, or boost their own reach. Cards represent content with specific themes (e.g., travel, food, style) and may trigger bonuses depending on the player's avatar niche. Players gain likes, manage their social media feed of up to five posts, and interact with others using cards like "Complaints" (to block a rival’s post) or "What’s Wrong With…?" (to attack and gain likes at their expense). Strategic use of event cards like "Hype Up", "Fan Love", and "Blogger Festival" adds dynamic twists. The goal is to be the first to accumulate 100,000 likes. A simplified version of the rules is also available for children, focused only on basic posting and collecting likes.
