Carry on up the Raj: Wargame Rules for the Indian Uprising 1857
By Steve Thompson (II)
A set of fun rules for the Indian Uprising based on a no-dice mechanism, aimed to bring the fun and suspense back into war gaming. These rules attempt to allow players to recreate the open warfare and horror of the 1857 Indian Uprising in a way to emphasise the role played by the Gentlemen and officers of the period. They will need to take control of the circumstances to help win the day with dash and swagger. They are designed to allow large games with lots of commands and are suitable for multi-player games for an evening or longer. They make no claim to be historically accurate but give a feel for the period and the way command and control worked in the country where Hate and miss information drove the war onward in directions controlled by the British Empire, The East India company and the Indian Cast system and Religions. Most of all they are designed to be fun and played in the manner of Gentlemen unlike the real war. —description from the publisher
