Leftover Letters

This is a game in Dr. Finn's Book of Solo Strategy and Word Games (volume 1). This game requires 2 dice, a pencil, and a game sheet. This solo game consists of three main parts: Fill, Forget, and Find. In the first part, you roll dice to fill in a 7x7 grid of letters which has 14 empty squares and 35 pre-determined letters. Each die roll determines a letter, which you enter into any empty square. After 14 rolls, the grid is filled. In the second part, you roll dice to determine letters that you can cross out. You take 10 turns, crossing out 1 letter in the grid at a time. In the third part, you make words using the remaining letters in each row and column. Your score for each word depends on its length, the letters in the word, special letter bonuses, and a word bonus if you use all the letters in a row or column. —description from the publisher
