Wordsmiths

Wordsmiths is a two-player competitive word game where players act as blacksmiths forging words to decorate a kingdom. Players use letter tiles from a common pool to form words on a central "Forge" board, claiming these words with clamp tiles. Completed words, at least five letters long, are then moved to the player's individual "Display" board for scoring. Players utilize processes like using the vowel pool, moving tiles from their inventory to the forge, or using modifier tiles. The game involves strategic tile placement, claiming words, overlapping words for bonus Strata and gem tiles, and acquiring tools or improvements to enhance gameplay and scoring. The game ends when the consonant bag is empty, and the player with the highest total score from their display, stratagems, and opponent's filler tiles wins. —description from the designer
