Nordic Theater Winter War 1939-1940

By Anders Skoglöf · Art by Anders Skoglöf

The year was 1939, and World War II was just about to escalate. The Soviet Union wanted to push its border with Finland on the Karelian Isthmus in an attempt to protect the city of Leningrad and make it secure from a potential German attack. The Soviets then proposed to exchange Soviet territory and secure a 30-year lease for a naval base at the Finnish island Hanko. Finland refused and the Soviet Union launched an attack on November 30, 1939, the start of the Russo - Finnish War. With this amazing background and scenario, we at War and Honor tried to create a great game that will make you experience this war through all its twists and turns. With determination, decisions, and dice, the winner will be delivered. We wish you luck! • This is a 1vs1 war game covering the Soviet Union invasion of Finland. • The game is set during the very harsh winter of 1939 at the start of WW2. • You compete for land territories, victory cities and sea zones for 10 rounds. • It is an easy game played in one evening for anyone who already owns an Axis and Allies game. —description from the designer
