Board Game
Tribun: Pugna pro Cannae
By Carsten Deffland, Maximilian Deffland
A game based on the Battle of Cannea, Tribun pits two sides against each other in a battle of constantly shifting pieces. You start out with a Tribun and several stacks of soldiers of varied heights. You can then move, combine, or split your stacks - or attack an opponent's stack. Movement, attack range, and power are each dependent on the height of the stack - single-disk stacks move one/attack one, larger stacks can hop around the hexagonal board in increasingly large steps. The goal is to attack the stack containing the opponent's Tribun, and beat the leader of the opposing forces into submission. Since the Strengths and Abilities of stacks keeps changing (whether by choice or by attacks from the opponent diminishing your stacks), the rules are simple, but the actual choices can be quite complex. —user summary
