Battle of Vinegar Hill Game
By Steve Kling
In June of 1798 British forces converged on the United Irish camp on Vinegar Hill to crush the Irish Rebellion. A major battle ensued which the British won though many Irish soldiers escaped. The United Irish were superior in numbers (and perhaps religious and ideological fervor) but the British were better equipped and more of a regular, disciplined force. The game is won by capturing a majority of the objective hexes and not suffering too many casualties in doing so. Cards govern movement, combat and unique events, and vary game play.
