Mint Privateers
Engage in maritime warefare, deliver goods, and rid the sea of pirates. Or become a pirate and plunder the riches for yourself. In Mint Privateers, players must earn enough fame to win. Players can earn fame by sailing around the Caribbean to capture or sink ships, raid merchants, deliver in demand goods, buy ships, deposit gold at their home port, or complete objectives on story cards. In order to perform these actions, players will need to assign their crew dice properly. It is also important to upgrade your ship or complete scuttlebutt cards which reward you with game changing effects. The nature of Mint Privateers being a sandbox game allows players to play the way they want to. Players can play like a merchant by dodging pirate ships and delivering goods to ports that need them. Or players can play more like a pirate and attack nation ships and merchant tokens. Or perhaps players start off playing like a merchant and turn to piracy midgame. Players even have opportunities to be pardon for their crimes of piracy to return to a merchant lifestyle of play. —description from the publisher
