Board Game
Tikhvin 1941-1942
By Wojciech Zalewski
The game simulates the military actions that took place during the defence of Leningrad in the autumn and winter of 1941. The focus of the game is on the area near the towns of Tikhvin and Volkhov, where German forces launched the Tikhvin Offensive in October 1941, whose main goal was to cut off the supply routes running to Leningrad and connect with the Finns. This met with a Soviet counteroffensive which eventually thwarted the German plans.
