Age of Arms

The Middle Ages. Despite the severe restrictions on movement during this period, there were still those who traded. The lords with their intricate fiefdoms and the rise of the City relies on these traders. You are a major distributor across Central Europe... But you don't yet have the trading posts to support your commerce. Scavenge for materials, fulfil contracts and venture out into the outside world. Lead the youth of the Family in building up a network of trading posts and trading houses from village to village and town to town. Age of Arms is a middle-weight euro game that combines resource management, building, and board movement. The game has two pillars. The first is to collect a tableau of cards to fulfil contracts. The cards you collect are also resources for fulfilling additional contracts. By accumulating cards of the same colour, special effects can be obtained and the game is accelerated. The completed contract cards also dictate which direction and how far you can move. The second pillar is the 'Traders Journey'. By utilising the movement dictated by your contracts, the players trade caravan travels around the 12 cities of Central Europe. Along the way, you can set up trading posts, build trading houses and score points in the cities. Which of the trading companies will befriend the most noblemen and become the champions of the age?
