By Slawomir Dzieciol
Battles of Zieleńce and Dubienka, fought in 1792 are the famous battles of the Polish history. Both took place during the war of Polish consitution against Russia. In the battle of Zieleńce (18.6.1792) newly formed Polsh army led by general Józef Zajączek, succesfully stood against stronger and much more experienced Russian army. Russians suffered twice as much losses as Poles and had to retreat. In the battle of Dubienka (18.7.1792) Polish troops led by general Thadeus Kościuszku fought an all day battle against Russians in the fortified positions. Despite the fact that Poles eventually left their positions, Russians suffered huge losses (about 4000 dead and wounded), while Polish army suffered smaller losses (about 900) and was still able to fight. Game depicts both battles, along with hypothetical variants, showing "what if" situations.
