Seamos Libres

By Gabriel Andrade

This historical game highlights the life and work of Don José Francisco de San Martín from his return to his homeland in 1812 until 1845, already exiled in Europe. The most important personalities and events of his public life appear on his cards for players to share in their circumstances, struggles and destiny, in order to win the trust and favor of the Big Boss. OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME Obtain the highest number of medals of honor at the end of the game, in order to become the Lieutenant of the Liberator José de San Martín. GAME MECHANICS Each player receives a character card at the start of a round. Then, the first player takes a second character and decides which of the two characters in his hand to play, revealing him to the other players and executing his effect. The game continues in turns until all the characters have been played or there is only one player left in the round. If the latter happens, it is defined who of the players has won the medal corresponding to the event in dispute and the next round ends. Repeating these rounds for each of the 15 events, the player who has the most medals or is the last one to reach the highest number of medals will win. This is a game of deduction, memory and chance, where the participants playfully immerse themselves in the revolutionary passions of freedom and justice; knowing heroes and villains, victories and failures; unjustly forgotten patriots or false heroes turned traitors and, nevertheless, revered by liberal history.
