Oh Bleep!

Oh Bleep! is a bidding and trick-taking game based on Oh Hell! The game is played over 10 hands (or fewer, in higher player counts), with the number of tricks increasing each hand. At the start of each hand, a trump is revealed and players bid on the number of tricks with will take. They will only score points if they make their bid exactly, but higher bids earn more points. The bids cannot add up to the number of tricks, so each hand will be either underbid or overbid. The card-play is similar to most trick-takers, but players must follow suit only on face cards. If a player cannot follow suit, they break the chain and the following players do not have to follow suit either. This leads to an emphasis on hand management and short-suiting. Oh Bleep was designed by Ed White in the 1970s-80s and self-published in 1991. The self-published version includes 2 decks of playing cards with the face cards specially marked "follow suit", a custom score-pad, and a list of "discreet" expletives.
