Board Game
Hindsight
By David Parlett
2 player traditional card game, combining trick taking and melding. Players aim to win tricks with their playing hand, and to convert their stock into a spread of 13 cards containing melds scoring as high as possible. The melds are: 1 per card in its longest suit, plus 1 per card in its longest sequence, plus 2 for a pair, 3 for three of the same rank and 8 for four of a kind. Also: to announce in advance which of one's two scores - tricks or melds - will count double. Trick play has the unusual feature that you have to follow suit, but if you can't and play a card of the same rank it trumps and is worth 10 points. Tricks of the same suit are worth 2 and tricks of differing suits are worth 6. —description from the designer
