Board Game
Byline
By Derek Lovell · Art by James Churchill
The 1960s. The world is brimming with news waiting for independent reporters to capture them into newsprint. Byline puts the player into the role as an independent newspaper reporter trying to elevate their reputation as well as the popularity of the major newspaper outlets. Using a unique worker placement mechanism, players will use the Planning phase to assign their hours of the day to actions, blocking other players from completing that action at the same time of the day. In the Resolution phase, those actions are then resolved from the earliest part of the day to the latest. Over the course of seven days, through clever planning players will pack each workday with seeking out sources, validating leads, and delivering stories just in time to meet the critical deadline.
