Across the archipelago, the tyrannical Imperial Navy tightens its grip on the islands, threatening to conquer your homeland and strip its people of their freedom. Branded as pirates and outlaws, you and your fellow privateers have only one choice: take to the seas, build your legend, and become powerful enough to challenge the Empire itself. In Song of the Seas, you will captain your own pirate ship in a thematic open-world adventure. Hunt mighty whales for valuable supplies, intimidate merchant vessels for wealth and crew, or engage the Imperial Navy in naval combat to seize powerful ship upgrades. Improve your captain's skills and reputation, upgrade your vessel, gather resources, and decide how best to spend the precious hours of each day as you pursue renown across the seas. With your earned renown, you will build your own Pirate Lair from which to launch your rise to glory. Every voyage presents new opportunities and dangers as you follow maps to treasures, learn powerful sea shanties, and confront legendary perils lurking beneath the waves. No two captains will forge their legend in the same way. Players may become feared naval commanders with expert marksmanship, ingenious master explorers, or leverage their skills of parley to influence merchant vessels. Each round you will choose a sea shanty for your crew to sing, granting unique abilities that can dramatically alter your strategy and help shape your journey. The game ends when a player reaches 12 Renown, triggering the final round. To claim victory, a player must first complete their Pirate Lair and then finish the game with the greatest Renown. Only one captain will earn the right to unite the islands, repel the Empire, and be remembered as the Pirate King or Queen.
