Operation Theseus: Gazala 1942

By Dirk Blennemann · Art by Pablo Bazerque

Operation Theseus - Gazala 1942 is an operational level simulation of the Gazala battles of 1942, which took place during May and June 1942. The game is intended for two players but is also suitable for solitaire and team play. The goal for the Axis player is to hit the Allied forces hard and to seize specific victory locations, thereby opening the door to Egypt. The Allied player wants to prevent this from happening, thereby eliminating the Axis potential for further offensives. The game is played in a semi-interactive way and makes both players sit on the fence at all time. It uses the same core system as VUCA's earlier Crossing the Line. Game Features Unit scale: infantry brigades/regiments & tank battalions/regiments Time scale: 1 to 6 days. Map scale: 2.2 miles (3.5 kms) per hex Scenarios: Three (including campaign) Playing time: 60 minutes to 10 hours, depending on the scenario. Players: Two players or solitaire play
