Bet Your Word

Bet Your Word is a poker-like word game where you try to make the best-scoring words. Using letters in your hand and the central one showing, form your best word and bet to see if it is better than that of your opponent(s). SETUP: 1. Shuffle the cards and place into a draw pile. 2. Give each player an equal number of coins. 3. Give each player five cards to hold in secret.   GAME PLAY: On each turn: • A player flips over the next card from the draw pile • Each player antes one “cent” • Each player attempts to visualize a word using a combination of the central card any number of letters in their hand • Any player can then bet a coin • All players who wish to bet their word, must match the bet and can raise their bet as well • When betting stops, the players reveal their words • The player with the highest point value gathers all the letters played, all the coins and the central card • Players can then replace up to five cards from the draw pile • Players must maintain exactly five cards in their hands Play continues with the next player on the left. The game ends when no more cards can be drawn. At this point players add up their coin values and letter values to determine the winner. If there is a tie, the youngest player wins. Two additional modes are possible. Solo mode and "Multiple Choice" betting mode.
