The Battle of Cropredy Bridge: June 29th 1644
By Peter Riley
This is a classic English Civil War battle with the Parliamentarians trying to seize an opportunity by catching the Royalist army on the march towards Oxford. Led by the King the Royalist army responded quickly with the ensuing battle playing out over a large area, in three phases and with a similar amount of Horse and Foot. Presented as a “mini-campaign” using a multiple boards approach used in the original Little Bighorn game. Cavalry charges, infantry stands and desperate defences are hallmarks of this battle.
