1st Battle of El Alamein

1st El Alamein is a simplified simulation of the mid 1942 battle in the desert of Egypt that marks the high tide of the Afrika Korps in the desert. Although the later battles of Alam Halfa and especially 2nd El Alemein are more famous, it was the Commonwealth’s survival in this July battle that stopped the Afrika Korps and saved Egypt. Advanced and optional rules based on historical events are included for more experienced players looking for a deeper and more complicated game. Sequence of play: Step 1 -Allocate support units Step 2 –Move any or all Axis units Step 3 –Axis declare Combats Step 4– Allies side Movement Step 5– Allied side declare Combat Step 6– Move Axis armour units Step 7- Move Allied armour units Step 8– Axis armour declare combats Step 9– Reinforcements Step 10- Administration Step 11– Victory Determination
