It's full rules fill a whole four pages. It has no "pseudo-historical" backstory. It's probably family friendly as long as it isn't played while drunk. Opposing armies contains units purchased from a points pool. Individual units are equipped with "whatever can actually be seen" - and such equipment adds to the point cost of the unit. Attacks are made with whatever type of equipment the unit has, including mêlée or ranged attacks. Play proceeds in turns, with players alternating. Unit movement is performed in inches - if the play area is using terrain, it must be navigated around. Units receiving enough damage are removed from play.
