La Garde 6mm

By Mathieu Brevet, Xavier Frandon

La Garde 6mm: Rules for Napoleonic grand tactical battles in 6mm. The concept is to give "grand order". That is to give orders to corps & divisional commanders, not to order a single battalion. It is considered that a divisional or brigade commander ordered to take defensive positions will form his troops in square by himself if the need was to arise ... An original system with tokens is used to resolve combats. Dice are used to determine reinforcements entry times and duration of the battle. The goal is to break the enemy morale, not just inflicting casualties. Turn order sequence: Preparation phases - Reinforcement phase - Order phase - Rally and officers replacement phase - Initiative phase - Army corps orders Disclosure Activation Cycle: - Activation phase - Orders disclosure - Movements and combats Consolidation Phase Game scale for ~6mm figures: 1cm = 20 meters. 3cm = 60 meters (width of the bases) 10cm = 200 meters (effective range of muskets) 60cm = 1200 meters (max range of 12 pounds of artillery pieces) 1m = 2km A game turn last from 20 to 55 minutes. - User summary
