Highlander: moments of historie
By Hans Demand
The game takes place on a map of Scotland divided into 36 territories, of which 24 are assigned to specific clans. Each region has upper limits on the capacity of characters, livestock and crops. The game has economic and military features. Each player starts with a single clan region and tries to gain control over additional clans by conquering more regions. The goal is to be the first to occupy a certain number of clans depending on the number of players. Conquests are made by troop movements. To spread, players can move their pawns to neighbouring regions. Empty regions can be occupied. In occupied regions peaceful coexistence or conflicts can occur, which are then solved by figure majorities. Conquered areas are farmed and generate income in the form of money and agricultural resource yields. Each clan has a knight. By participating in tournaments, which are driven by dice rolling, knights can gain weapons and shields that increase their fighting power and are thus useful in conquering, protecting and managing areas. Gameplay is divided in 3 phases (build-up, protection and endgame) with 4 seasons each.
